Front/rear bumper facelift engineering for the Chery Jetour FL4 model
We were responsible for the Chery Jetour FL4 model’s front/rear bumper minor-facelift engineering design. Under a robust facelift strategy, the project optimized front/rear bumper surfaces and lower protectors and strengthened structures for pedestrian protection and low-speed crash, achieving refined front-face and tail refresh at low cost.
--- Project Highlights ---
1. Robust surface optimization: While retaining the original main architecture, we locally reshaped features of the front grille zone and rear lower protector to improve refinement without breaking the brand DNA.
2. Pedestrian-protection reinforcement: Optimizing the front bumper energy-absorbing structure and hood hinge area met the latest pedestrian head/leg protection regulations, reducing collision injury risk.
3. Low-speed crash economy: Designing replaceable vulnerable trims and energy-absorbing blocks lowered low-speed accident repair cost and improved ownership economy.
4. Process & matching consistency: Coordinating with tooling and grain suppliers, we controlled sink marks, flow marks and grain transitions to ensure high matching degree between facelift parts and the original vehicle.
